If you think it might be EGR realated, I can readily make you a stainless shim to go under the gasket to block it off. E-mail me with an address if you'd like me to do so. The shim will be .015 thick with the two bolt holes through it. You'll need to remove the EGR valve, put the shim under the gasket and bolt it back together. I can also slot the holes if you want to slide it in from the side.........
