what vpr lightning finally goes 11's
hi guys,
i just wanted to post an update on the other 03 lightning in superfords town. i went to richmond dragway this past friday night. i made a few passes in my mustang while my friends truck was cooling down. Jason made 1 pass: 12.08@ 113 mph. he went down the track with 2 lightning wheels and a 3 ton jack in the bed. we have been trying to get this truck in the 11's for the past few months but have been unsucessful till this past friday. after i got tired of trying get my mustang in the 12's...best friday was 13.04 @ 104 mph .....Jason asked me if i wanted to give it a try...so i kindly obliged and made a few stabs a it. my first pass was a 11.93 @ 114 mph and returned immediately to make another pass and ripped off an 11.92 @ 114 mph..not bad huh? Well Jason is headed to JDM for tuning @ 22lbs. on wednesday. Imagine what that truck will do then.....

we had a few issues also...
the air pressure in the slicks were at 16 psi.
when i launched the 1st pass...the truck didnt hook well and the azz end started to come around the left, i started to drift towards the wall on the left but i never let off the gas either...but somehow i managed to recover and blast down the track.
the 2nd pass i had the right lane and i ran all by myself...the truck hooked great..1.75 60fts. but the truck was wandering all over the track but still managed to make another 11.90 pass. the truck feels so unstable too. maybe i didnt have enough air in the slicks...ill air them up more next time.
i think the truck makes plenty of power to go deeper in the 11's with the KB only making 15lbs. Jason is headed to JDM tomorrow (wed) for tuning @ 22lbs. Hopefully we will try it out this friday. we have to address the traction issue 1st before we run that outrageous amount of boost. Superfords is really a good competition for this truck. Even with his ported apten blower at the same boost...he is right there or even faster. ( its a compliment Chris....so dont get too head heavy.) He has inspired many lightning owners, and its great to have a rivalry and a friendship with him also. Its great to be friends with both owners of both trucks. Its the closest ill ever get to owning a Lightning...
