Unhappy Sianara all. Fell to the darkside. Thanx for all the help!

Well everyone, here's GOOSE (some may know me as TINMAN) signing off, after taking this for what I thought was a routine test drive, I promptly traded the lightning in for it...

I am an infamous rice hater, so you KNOW this thing is something to drive if I forked over the loot for it. I forgot how nice it is to have a covered trunk, and a back seat, not to mention a 6 speed and the most unbelieveable handling I have ever experienced (took a 25mph corner at over 75 yesterday). Not to mention the gadgets...Nav, heated seats, traction contron & DSC, sweet heads-up display and a powerful stock bose system. All those goodies did push it to 36 grand, but all seem well worth it. Since its Mazda, I hope Ford had allot to do with it...because if this is whats to come from Japan in the future...we're in trouble. The ONLY sacrifice in this car from the Lightning is sheer power. I have owned over 11 new mustangs since 1994, a cobra conv. in 99, an svt contour and a few lincolns and my lightning and have never so all around enjoyed a car like I am this one. And thats really sad for me to say.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you guys here at F150 and over at NLOC for all the help over the years. Your answers & knowledge kept my truck in tip top shape & the advice on mods assisted in me pushing it well over 400HP at the rubber. I wish you all the best of luck and maybe if the NEW lightning is as incredible as we are hoping it will be, I'll be back in a few years. Be safe all.

Hey, good luck with your new car, it's a nice car, at least it has a little more class than the other souped up rice's I've seen. Let me say that I once owned an American rice, yeah you're wondering which car that was, well it was a Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo with all wheel drive, all wheel steering, adjustable suspension, muffler dampening for sport or touring 300 hp with 300 torque and once took it up to 165mph with the air conditioning on and didn't even know I was going that fast, anyways now that I got the L I can truely say I'm having more fun in a truck than that car and that car was fun, hope you'll have as much fun as you did in your L I know there are going to be times on the road when you're going to say, boy if only I had the Lightning now.

BEST OF LUCK Goose

I almost did the same thing, I truly do love that Mazda
and IMO it's truly the only 4 door vehicle I would EVER consider
to still be designed AND LOOKS like a sports car.

I'm not saying there aren't other fast as crap 4 doors,
I'm saying 4 doors and sports car don't go together no matter how expensive the car is, THIS ONE DOES.

Good Luck

It's one of those triangle things I beat with my eaton charged' Regal GS

Nice car, I like the styling of them. Just not as much potential, IMO as the Lightning.

That car looks sweet, nice stylin. Any chance of getting a turbo for it? Make up a little for the lost power of the L.

Hope you enjoy it, at least you kept it in the family (Ford)

Rotories burn oil?

The new renesis doesn't burn oil like the old RX-7s. It still burns oil (well oil is injected on purpose to lubricate the seals).

The nice thing about a rotory is they LOVE boost...

Goose,

Can I buy the Lightning bolt off the front of your truck?

Sorry, I traded the truck in, so it belongs to Cook Imports now.

I'm sure they handle well. How is straight line speed compared to your L when it was stock?

We test drove the RX8 and considered it. In the end, the 350z walked all over it. We didn't require a backseat though. If we did, we would have went with the Infiniti g35 coupe.

Nice car inside and out, but the RX8 needs help under the hood and there was very little in the aftermarket.

Have Fun!

Great looking RX8! I'm sure it is quite a dif' between it and the Lightning. Lots of "gadgets" to keep you occupied!
