No boost loss after install of LTs?

A couple of weeks ago I installed long tubes headers and high flow cats I got from JDM on a group purchase. First, let me just say that putting it on was a BITCH. I found it easier taking off the stock exhaust. But thats all done now and the truck is just loud, which I wanted.

Anyways after driving it for a while and making alot of runs, I have noticed that Im still getting the same amount of boost after installing the headers. Before I was seeing almost 13lb of boost right before the shift. Now after the install, Im still seeing 13lb of boost. Whats the deal? I thought that I would loose about 1lb or so of boost after installing LT.

Now today I installed my ported S/C and when I went out to make some runs, I was seeing just over 15lb of boost before the shift. This is one of the reasons I installed LT is to help keep the boost down alittle. Seeing this much boost on my stock engine makes me sweat alittle. So, should I be worried about running this much boost on a stock block? Most of you would say that its all in the tune but I am wondering if 15lb of boost is really going to the limit and why I did not see any boost loss after installing LT? Whats up with that? Anybody have any thoughts?

lt's

not every truck is the same. Usually, you will see a slight loss of boost. Most guys see it in the lower rpm. You max boost levels may stay the same and that is normal. Anyway, the added boost shouldn't make too much of a difference but GET IT ON THE DYNO!!

A/F is the life/death of these, and every engine.

After I fitted my Kooks longtubes my boost went down a little (1 or 2psi) Performance went up though

I am thinking maybe the air is better now, cooling off a bit. Boost always goes up in cold air.

You should be a little richer in the a/f after the header install. To get the best out of them you need to get a new burn.
