Talking Howdy

New L owner here from Northern CA.

I'm now the proud owner of a 2004 Silver Lightning

I bought it in the Bay Area last night and drove it home (very late to avoid traffic). So far, I REALLY like this truck. The power is tremendous compared to the V8 Silverado I recently sold. I'll have to get a pic for you guys of the Silverado (it's still in my garage waiting for the new owner to pick it up) next to the mighty L

Anyways, I have a question for you guys. My L didn't have a front plate drilled (I asked that it not be done) but it has two small dimples/indentations on the front bumper (probably where they would drill if they did it). Do all L's have these things, just curious.

Oh ya, who can change my forum username (I'm picky, plus stevoo is pretty stupid). Thanks!

My holes were drilled but never used, I don't know if the dimples were there before.

I'm pretty sure you have to create a new user name in order to change it. Admin might be able to do it for you though, not positive.

Welcom to the board, and congrats on the new purchase!

The dimples are there in the beginning, I have then on my facia too, they get less noticable as time goes on.

I would just re-register to get a new user name, you've got a low post count already, so there's not much to loose...I'm pretty sure that the admins won't do it for you...

I do feel better for giving up the Chevy. Even though it didn't do me wrong. Well, I didn't even drive it much for any problems to happen (only 20,000 miles for a 2000 model).

Anyway, I have a question for you guys. I have the factory bedliner and seal (non-snap) black tonneau cover. How hard is it to remove the bedliner (I might want a bedrug)? Also, how does the tonneau hold up? What do you guys use to keep it nice and clean/black?

Welcome ! Bed liner removal. Remove the 4 tie downs, pick the rear/center of the liner up and put a box or bucket under it, and work it from under both rails from rear to front.
