Talking New Track Times!

Went out to San Antonio Raceway tonight to watch and got full sucked in...

My previous best was 13.85 at 100 with a 2.xxx 60 foot.

I've added a 5# lower, a mail order flip chip and a 12" filter since then. Track weight today: 4990 lbs. Bald F1's - no traction aids.

Track conditions - 79 @ 79r.h.

Conservative side of chip - 13.73 @ 100 w/ 2.08 60' - not realy into it fully due of reservation about the tune (I've not seen a dyno or an A/F readout yet. Two runs similar results.

Hot side of the chip run 1:
13.51 @102.6 w/2.11 60'

Hot side of the chip run 2: (more smoke & heat in burnout):
13.36 @102.23 w/2.03 60' & .525 rt

Four runs - four win slips, 2 PO mustang drivers, 2 VERY PO Trash Can (I mean Trans Am) Drivers.

I think with better traction (ala 58" bars) and a quicker 60' and maybe less humid air - I may just see a 12 in my work truck.

p.s. San Antonio race conditions always seem to suck. I can't see shaving .4 off a 60' without some changes in hardware.

I'm waiting to go back to SAR when we get a little cooler air. Only went once in the '04 back in Feb while it was stock. Track prep is pretty lame sometimes. Have you ever been on a saturday? Wonder if they get it a little better or not. They run 1/4 brackets on some saturdays, can just run for time for $20 though too.

I've not run on Saturday yet, but I probably will in Oct. or Nov.

Track prep is usuall y pretty spotty on Test-N-Tune nights. I seems to be better than Alamo even was, even on competition nights though,

Glad to see you out running.....and not to shabby . Get those bars ordered ASAP, before you hook up, roll up, and then need a new drive shaft.

Thanks Mike,

Not exactly knocking on the door of 10 seconds, yet But its still fun!

Bars and a loop on on the agenda next. If I can get the 60' down, it'll be 12s or real close.

The coolest part is that I'm remodeling the kitchen at the house and had 1000 pounds of ceramic floor tile in the bed about four hours before the 13.36 run

Have I mentioned that I LOVE these trucks?
