Supercharged Chevy SS vs Lightning

Hey guys, There is this guy in town that bought a Chevy SS and now he has put a supercharger on it. He wants to race me....How would I stand, Have you heard of anyone putting a blower on these trucks? You can look in my sig for the mods I have and I also plan to send my blower in for porting and get the new SCT Chip within the next week. Thanks for your replys!

You've seen the Joe Gibbs truck right? It can just hang with a stock L from what I have heard. The SS is a bigger truck, and is all wheel drive to boot. Granted he can launch harder, but that is alot of driveline to turn. I think if you have 4#er and a chip you will get the win light.

Ought to be a good race anyway, get it on tape

I think with your mods and times you will have no problem taking him, and if you get the blower ported like you are planning and then race him......he doesn't stand a chance!

Please do as Grimace said and get it on tape, bring a passenger with you and a camera so we can all see it!!

Should'nt be a problem, could be a good race in your favor of course.
as for the blower porting, plan on it taking at least 2 weeks door to door.

HAVE FUN

Run him and find out. I'd like to know how it turns out. If the SS is done right, there's a damned good chance he can take a Lightning. Even a moderately modded one. The Joe Gibbs truck has a 4.8L engine turning in stock 'L' numbers, or there abouts. The SS start's with a 6.0L engine and AWD. If you throw enough money at it, anything can be made into a screamer.

I ran one a while back when I was working at a chevy dealership. He came in and everyone was scremaing "lightning Killer"
Well it wasnt pretty. He was about 10 lengths back before 80mph.
He was only running 6 lbs though.

all depends on what he really does have under the hood, he could be spraying too, u never know, just run him and find out, my best guess is that u will win, especially with ur mods, and hey if u loose, no big deal, its just for fun right? Now go kick his butt

There is a red SS in town. It has an emblem on the tailgate that says "supercharged" I haven't got a chance to race him yet. It's only a matter of time though, small town
