Ground Force Lowering kit

Today I ordered a 1-2'' drop kit. I was wandering if I need to use my torque wrench when reassembling it? If so what do I torque everything to? Also am I going to need a shim kit with this? I have never installed a lowering kit and just needed to get a few things cleared up. Thank you!

I assume its a 1"spring and 2" shackle drop?

U can get by w/o a torque wrench.

I believe the rear eye bolts get 75ft lbs.

An no need for a shim.

I just installed this kit 2 months ago. You will need a torque wrench. The front suspension torques are probably the most important. I believe the ball joints are 120-130 ft-lbs. I had a to replace the tie rod ends when I did mine. Tore the boots up getting them off.

There is no need to remove the ball joints. The easiest, quickest, best way to lower the truck is by removing the upper control arm... which you have to do anyway to get the CAM BOLT kit in. You will have to use this cam bolt kit so that the alignment shop can re-align the truck back into spec. The factory shiims will not give you the required travel to align a lowered truck.
Also, I had a groung force kit on my '99... and I was extremely disappointed with it. The truck was level side to side in the front before, and not level after the install. The springs were rotated properly, and I also re-installed them in a few different positions to see if it would help. When I got my 2002, in went the BELLTECH's..... MUCH, MUCH BETTER!! I used the 4804 coils and JLP rear 2/3/4 shackles on the lowest setting. I will post a picture of this set-up in its current configuration tomorrow.

Ditto!

although I used the Belltech rear hangers. the ground force springs barely lowered my truck, and were VERY sloppy. the Belltech's ride much better, and really lowered my front end 2".

If you haven't installed the GF springs yet, consider sending them back, and buying Belltech for pretty much the same price.

sorry so long to reply. I just recently had to add new shocks to the set up. the belltech 2-3 drop is too much for the stock shocks. I replaced the stockers for custom valved/lengthed Bilsteins from Hotchkis for about $90 per shock (front and rear). Handles great/rides great!
