Magnum or Apten?

Thinking of trading the `03 for an `04 with more serious engine works. Currently filter, chip, pulley- usual stuff. I`m well pleased with power for street driving, occassional blast ect.
Do I go with Magnum and try for some serious power, or Apten and just get a noticable power increase. I would like to see at least 500 at the wheels.
Would this kind of out put require built motor / trans ?
What happens to the emissions?, will it meet the standards of the non-modded motor?
I`ve read Magnum reports and some seem quite poor power results, with others rather better. I would ship the truck to JDM and have them carry out all the works, before bringing it to the UK.
All opinions considered, thanks.

Hey Dean, That's a lot of questions! I'll stab at a few. I'm not sure you'd get 500rwhp with just a pulley, full exhaust, and an Apten port?

Also, IMO to have a reliable 500 rwhp truck the motor ought to at least have a strong bottom end.

btw: don't forget there are other tuners who can do the same things. Sometimes at a lower cost too.

500HP> at the rear wheel>?

This is what I have installed.
6# lower
Apten Porting
90mm MAF
phenolic spacer port matched
intake port matched
tr-6
E-fan
WP
JLP ram air intake
SCT tune / 4 bank chip
and some other odds and ends

the power I made is in my sig.

to get 500rwhp, you are over what is considered safe for the bottom end. the bottom end is good to about 450-470hp at the rear tires. there are exceptions, but if you factor in longevity of the engine..... they are on borrowed time and I think most would agree.

You won't get 500rwhp from an apten unless you are spraying.

you won't get 500rwhp from a magnum power or KB. and if you do it won't be long before you need a new blockl

I make 500 plus with an Apten also but like superfords I have a built motor with cams and heads. On a stock block with stock cams and heads I think 500 rwhp would be near impossible without the spray.

I believe Rob 02Lightning is making 500 with juice, ,SVT150 is making over 500 and I think Fast Gator might be.. not 100% sure.. it can be done... SVT150 also runs low 11's on a stock block... granted not every lightning can do that... but there are some special cases
