FYI on emissions testing

I did some searches on etesting and noticed the concerns on this type of test on a modified vehicle, as I was very concerned about it also. I really didn't find any definitive answers on this and today was the day for my test.

I'm not sure what the differences are between U.S. and Canadian emissions testing but just wanted to let you know that I am very happy to report that my truck passed with no problem at all.

The test was done on my warm weather program and I made sure the truck was at full operating temp before doing the test. I am very lightly modded so I would think that if you are modded similar to mine you will pass.

I have no idea what all the numbers mean, my only concern was the word "Passed" being in the results and it was.

So here's hoping that these results will ease the worries a bit of those who have to go through this.

If you mean the prongs that are put in the tailpipe, they were most definitely there. Whether they were working or not, I don't know.

Just checked the etest done on my other car last year and it reads 0 also. I think yysenhimer is correct.

not doubting what you are saying because I know nothing about it ... BUT if under limits = zero whats the point of having the limit on the form at all - You have no way of knowing how close you are unless you are over ...

Simplify the form make it a big square

if the square is green you pass if its red you fail

Here in texas they dont sniff anything newer that 1996

In NY it cost about $30 for the inspection and another $50 cash for the pass.

Didn't take it that way at all Doug. Thought it was a very valid point you made so I dug out the other test to see what it read and it confirmed what yysenhimer said.
The tests here cost $35.95. I think thats about $2.00 U.S.
Of course, now, our crazy government is talking about doing away with these tests on our vehicles.
