interesting SRT-10 information

supposedly, the srt-10 has been detuned to preserve the clutch.
I don't know if this is true, but basically the first srt-10's with the 500hp were burning up clutches quickly. Also dodge put a plastic Slave cylinder in the tranny to save $1 on production costs.
Whatis dodges solution to the burning up of the clutches?
Detune the srt-10.
What that thread sas is basically that.
Some of the PCM have 2 differnt stickers on them? Perhaps dodge is reflashing the PCM to detune them?
One guy put down 370 rwhp on a stock srt-10. Now I'm no engineer, but if you are truly making 500 flywheel HP, shouldn't it be a tad bit higher than 370 at the tires?
Just like I predicted in January the clutch was the weak point of the srt-10, and you laughed at me. HA

BTW: one guy took his Srt-10 to the track with a catback and ran
best time was 2.45 @ 60 ft.
quarter mile 14.07 @ 101.06
I ran four times and 60 foot time was always in the 2.3 to 2.45 range. Funny my fastest time was also my slowest sixty foot time.
I was trying to launch at about 3k but kept getting wheel spin, so I slowed it down to about 2 to 2.5k and then would nail it after I was rolling.....Only once did I get zero wheel spin....Everytime I hit second I would get a big scratch. It sounded cool but of course it was slowing me down. My goal for the night was to get into the 13's. I was almost there, less than a tenth away. I think I will be able too with more seat time with the launches.
I had a great time and the truck got a lot of attention. I ended up racing the local L guy and he ran a 12.76 and his dial in was 12.75!! Not bad, he is really fast.....I told him the best part of beating me was the bragging rights on the internet on the svt sites.....He laughed, and said I was right!!!
I have yet to run into one of these on the road. saw one at a dealership in NY.

So, if we assume the 03 & 04 L's are putting out 350 RWHP the hp to weight ratio is:
Lightning - 4700lbs = 13.43lbs per 1hp
SRT-10 - 5140lbs = 13.89lbs per 1hp
For the SRT-10 to be equal it needs to put down 383 RWHP
Looks like we need to take the "current" trucks and run another speed test and see what happens...
