Is there any reason I can't mount the Crossfire here? I will mount the pulsoids on this side also with a distance of 5" from the Pulsoids to the Crossfire.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
Fom the picture I see no problem and another customer did a similiar spot. As long as there is no obstructions, numerous turns, and an uphill flow for fuel to drop out, you will be fine.

The spray pattern is very wide so you will get good dsitribution. Outlet line length sounds good.

Just make sure you turn the injector around to spray into the motor.

Greg,

I had my nozzle mounted in the same spot. Since the Lightning is a top entry design and there is a quick 90 degree bend, there isn't much chance of a direct spray into the blower. Like Denny said, just make sure you are spraying towards the back of the upper intake.

Greg,

I WOULD NOT mount it there, I tried it, and ended up plugging the hole, and going to the other side.

If you look at the inside view,

the hole closest to you on the left side is the one I tapped and then pluged. As mentioned our Manifold takes a big turn just up stream of there, IMO I would have been Spraying into a dead end, so I moved it. My guess is
YA I guess it would still work ???
BUT by moving it over to the other side,
thats the nozzle you see close to you on the right side, you are now using the turn of the Upper in you favor, and the spray will go directly to the middle and center of the flow

It's a pretty sharp turn (as seen here by this angle)
and with the nozzle now here, I feel I have the perfect location

Thanks all. Rob, I thought that if I moved it to the other side I could avoid the heat generated in the EGR pipe, but if you believe it is better there then so be it. I obviously want the best placement and you seem to have thought it out pretty well.

To control the heat from the EGR tube, use a double wrap of thermal insulator wrap. They use it on header tubes, so you wount have to worry about burn through. This should take care of any heat close by! Artie

Greg, I'm sure it would work, and I agree it's s great spot,
schitt I drilled my upper, tapped it, and even installed and hooked up my nozzle there. But it was after that when I looked inside the upper, (pryor to re-installing the throttle body),
I realized "due to the turn of the upper", I would DEF be spraying directly against the wall and into a dead end (due to that turn).

Again it would still prob work, but after moving it to other side and looking closely, there is no doubt the Drivers Side WILL put the spray DIRECTLY middle and center, and I just felt that was better.

I think that you are correct now that I have looked at it.

Off topic what did you use to paint the blower and intake and did you prep it with anything. I can not decide if I want to go polished or painted black.

Halflife,
If I remember correctly I used VHT high heat engine enamel gloss black. I cleaned both pieces with acetone a couple of times and then painted them. It seems to be doing ok except where I scuffed the intake a bit.

PitchBlack,
My Magnum and intake was also painted black with high temp (500 Degree)enamel"High Gloss Black" and looks quite good I might add.

I thought my setup was going to be different from others but from the look of your pic i guess not?#%@$!#

But on a down side I think the paint traps the heat in worse than it would without the paint being there.

The OEM raw aluminum casting of the Mag was made to disipate heat better than the stock Heaton.

Another downside is this raw casting would stain in a heartbeat if anything even touched it, leading me to finally paint it after numerous cleaning attempts

Halflife,
good luck polishing the Mag if you chose to do so and keep me posted

Dennis
