4# lower only? = 0.036 - 0.038"

If you ever get a ported blower you'll want to step it down a bit.

I would like to sound like Mr Shadetree Mechanic but no, I have made some new "buddies" at one of the garages down the road where I got the beast inspected last week. The owner has a 68-69 Orange GTO i've seen cruise town.
Plugs, lower pulleys,tune-up,inspections,blah,blah thats what they do.
I swung by this afternoon and B.S.'d with them and they were cool and took the impac wrench to the hitch. Ahhhh so much better looking off and get rid of some of the *** end weight.
If the plugs/crank get done then maybe I can slap on the SBTB and AF1 Airintake kit. I should be able to handle that one myself.
Why do you ask ol chap?

OK cool, next question so what should they be with a SBTB and open air intake thrown into the mix so I can just knock it out one pop?
Thanks.

OK just to make sure I am tracking. With my 4# pulley, new plugs, intake,SB throttle 0.036-0.0038 is the magic gap #? If/when I get a ported blower or were to upgrade to a 6# pulley then the gap would be different?

Will my A/F be OK until I get a custom tune(preferably after the new exhaust is on). Or do I need to tweak it? What do you recommend on the Pred tuner?

Better safe then sorry you know what I mean? Thanks for the info.
Russ.

BTW I got my boost bypass from Lightning Enterprise today. Pretty easy deal here to install(only 3 pieces) because the B&W pics are kind of hard to make out.

Yep.

I would richen up the A/F all the way and retard the timing all the way until you can get A. a custom tune, or dyno tune or B. Until you can check the A/F and timing.

BTW: Make sure you read the manual before messing with timing and air fule.

Well good luck. I wish you would have told me that you wanted to do a boost bypass, as I probably could have saved you some money.

Are you sure? Reason I ask is because that's exactly what I was running (densos IT-20s at 0.040). My tuner of choice said that was too much and to lower it. I did and what-do-ya-know! I did'nt realize it at the time but I was getting a little flutter around 4000-4500 rpms. Got that gap down and now it's as smooth as silk......and runnin 12.4s
