Threw a code, misfire #6, less than 1000 rpm

Don't remember the number, but threw a code this weekend.
Figures 2 days after I start putting my mods back on something gets F'ed up and may have to bring it to ford.

The code read misfire in cylinder 6 under 1000 rpms?
Anybody have any experience?

I pulled the plug and changed it and also replace the coil pac. Trucks feels like it is running the same so not sure if that fixed it.

The one thing was that the plug was a little off. The little electrode thing was a little off to the left and not over the center like it should have been. I am guessing that may have cause it but what could have cause the plug to be off center?

If you have NGK plugs ? It could be just a normal occurance and one of the downsides to a cold plug on low compression engine under no boost. If you switched your plugs all around and the problem is still there, maybe it was that plug.

Does NY have a Lemon Law or is it a arbitration(sp) state ?

EDITED: Because I didnt read the entire post the 1st time.

yeah the are ngk br7.

3 or 4 of my coil pacs looked pretty baked. the rubber boot that goes around the coil is brownish.

I think I am just going to replace all the plugs and see if the car runs better. I hope that this may be the answer to my idle concerns I had.

Bump:
Any more insight to what could cause the misfire?

Thanks All.

Detonation will cause the plug to be off center.

Could just be a fluke. Motors misfire or idle rough for a second or two out of the blue all the time. My girlfriends Honda Civic just misfired and through a code also after only 10,000 miles on a fresh tune-up. A plug went bad from this causing a rough idle and another fresh tune-up with different plugs this time fixed everything.

I am going to pick up some new NGK plugs. Some of them are from my old motor so I guess the could be toasted.
