I did a Froogle search one time, to find some inexpensive breathers. I think I just searched on "valve cover breather" and came up with a lot of nice ones.

I just replaced the "Swanson" setup, as all the oil that would have gone into the upper intake, was now being drawn into the lower intake galley. All that oil vapor coated the intercooler AGAIN. Pulled the S/C last night, cleaned the I/C today. Installed a $9.99 breather on the driver's side - the passenger side I ran an elbow, then a 3.5' length of rubber hose to the driver's side and "T'd" into the line coming straight up from the driver's side valve cover.

Plugged the upper intake, and the line going to the bottom of the intake galley. Also plugged the hole at the bottom of the rubber intake boot. No unmetered air, no more oil in the intake.

Ran it, and it ran as smooth as a baby's a$$.

I'll post a write-up sometime, with pics.

Sounds like something I read about awhile back. I'm running a 6oz. filter tied in but, nothing on lower intake as of yet. sounds good when I had mine off i wish I would have cleaned the lower but was in a hurry to get apten on. I am gonna do the ball-bearing thingy to block the valve for now. thanx for input.

Maxpower, did you have any issues or feel any changes with the truck at ALL with blocking off the tube to the lower intake? Reason i ask this is i saw a thread a long ways back that Sal mentioned that he tried it on his truck and he was having some "wierd deceleration" issues. I didnt find it entirely clear though as that was all that he said. Right now i have the blower & intercooler out of my truck and im planning on capping the back of the intake. Im already running 2 breathers on the valve covers.

Nope. Felt and sounded great. Nice and smooth. Took it out for a little drive after the install, no decel differences - if anything, felt better.

If you get carried away, and forget to block off the lines that could allow unmetered air in/out, then yes, you'll throw a code. There are no monitoring systems on the truck that can sense you have removed the hot, oil vapor laden, crankcase gases from your intake paths.

I couldn't be happier with the change. I opened the hood after running it, and all I could see was some hot vapor coming out of the breather filter
