boost leaking???

Question boost leaking???

i had a post earlier in the month about my truck having all these mods and not showing the power on the dyno the only thing i can come up with is that i have boost leaking my gauge only hits ten and i have a lower 4 and upper 2. anyone have any suggestions on what to check or what could be the problem. thanks

there is a few things to check. First if you have a factory gage it only goes up to 10 lb of boost. Second run your hand around the blower snout to see if you have a lot of black belt dust. If so your belt is slipping.
Then if you have a after market gage make sure the connections are not leaking.

If air is getting out, then it is possible to for air to sneak in.

With engine idling you have high vacum from behind the throttle plates back.
I use spray carb cleaner to direct some spray at different suspected area's. You will hear the rpm change if you find a leak.
Go slow and just work your way around all the gasket connections.

I am kinda thinking like Suavy that you have a bad guage connection.
