Who has the Magnum Powers blower on their Lightning?

I was thinking of getting one installed on mine and was wondering what those of you that have them think of 'em so far?
Noticable gain in performance? I assume you would need a reburn and a SCT/Predator to go with it. Just looking for any input you have on them good or bad. JDM is coming to FFW here in Ennis this weekend and I may have them install it there depending on what else I need to do to it.
Thanks for the help!

I have one. I would go with the KB if I could go back and do it again. It doesn't seem to be much better than a ported Eaton from my experience with it. I have a feeling the KB will be easier to get some of your money back out of, if you decide to sell it later. Just my 0.02.

I have one and have been running it for almost 2 years now. I love the sound and the boost that I get from it.

I had one, a bit better than a ported eaton, good for street, daily driver vehicle, but I did blow up my truck with one and now I have to trade in my favorite vehicle for a damn mini van.

i think the big difrence between the ported eaton and the magnum is the discharge temps

boost is what you make of it

About 5 months now. No track times; but, with a 2 lb. lower, the dyno numbers were only a few hp stronger than the stock Eaton. That's with the addition of a phenolic spacer and Extrude honed plenum as well. With a 6# lower, I'm still at less than 430 hp SAE. That's also with full exhaust, extrude honed upper plenum, Accufab TB, CAI, and a chip. I'm gonna stay with the MP, since I already have it, and add a set of ported heads later to get a little closer to 500 hp. I don't want to go any higher than that with the stock block.

It cost me more with the MP to get my power level to where it is than it would have with the KB. I probably could have done as well with a ported Eaton.

It's good to see you still droppin' in. If you do a search over on NLOC, you'll get some other opinions and results for the MP that match up with mine. Jim said he was trying to develop some twin screw rotors to install in the MP case. That should make a difference if it happens.

I LIKE mine as well!!! I have had previous posts on my pleasures with the MP! Better gas mileage, 11's in high heat, the incredible sound, etc...It has performed as advertised, and one day will take me to the ten's with a built motor. Just talk to JDM (Jim), and match the blower to your mod's. He will tell you how to acheive max performance with the least degree of risk possible (as i've said before, we have no guarantee's in the racing game), especially on a stock block. This blower has been out for several months now and the few who seem to not like it seem small in comparison to those of us that really like it. I reckon that's like. Just ensure you do your homework. I know i went to extremes to get a proper tune, matched to my mod's, and that is the key. Enjoy.

JohnFastruck- Did you have yours tuned on a dyno? Thats the only thing that stinks living here in Texas, no dynos close by!
Seems like all the tuners are on the East coast! If your running 11's in the heat, your doing great, thats where I want to be!

If your going to be attending FFW make your decission there there will be at least 3 trucks I know that will be racing that FFW with the Magnum on them. Two of the post on this board, John Armstrong and Blaine King. All these guys are running great times, getting good fuel economy, and making power. I know Johns been 11.70s in the heat of Texas. In fact John Perdue whos truck I raced in VA FFW went 11.90s on a stock block truck in 100 degree weather. Lightning Bob also from this board whos gone 11.50's. Fast Freddy has also gone in the 11s on stock block with the MP. The Muscle mustang truck the fridge has gone 10.99 with a Magnum. We also have a gentlmen in canada who went 11.03 on a built motor and MP. Nate from Alaska has gone 11.80s. The list goes on. Now theres probably twice as many ported blowers out there as Magnum Powers and yet through out the summer I have not read of one 11 second ported blower truck until memorial day weekend. I had just tuned a ported blower truck with our built bottom end and cams, stock heads. Who showed 488 RWHP on the dyno and first pass was a 12.02 and the second pass I made was 11.92. The Magnum powers supercharger because of its design can go 11.90s on 465 peak HP. It also makes more power and torque throughout the band.

Casey02

If your Magnum is in good shape basically no modifications or dents and dings, I will buy it back from you.

To all who say that they cannot make power with the Magnum Powers I will give you this opportunity to come to our facility and let me tune the truck and if thats out of the question I will work with your local dyno shop to get your Magnum Powers where the rest of them are. Which most of the guys put down 460 on the street tune, 500 in race trim, 540 with cams, and for those with ported heads 580 to the tire. If you have another chip I will give you a trade in value on that chip so this way it can offset the cost.

Jim@JDM [/B][/QUOTE]

Are you telling me that you will take my Autologic flip chip on trade in for one of your Magnumpowers Superchip programs?

So far I'm with Stock Block and Fuel system, MagnumPowers w/2.70 ,4#lower, full bassani w/ cats ,JDM E-fan and Cobra R pump,100 mm idlers, Pro M 80, Cobra SingleBlade TB.

Mustang Dyno #'s are at 417.6/508.8 w/ 14.5 degrees timing in 100 degree weather
Feel free to call the tuner (Mark) at Panhandle Performance
850-265-9818

Im very limited on my options from down here in North FL

1)JDM Mail order chip/ SCT tuner
2)Drive 17 hrs to have you properly tune the truck

Any help or advise would be appreciated
Thank you
