Model Year question...

I did a search and didn't find anything recent on this topic. I have a friend looking to buy a 2001+ lightning, are there any pro's and con's between the 2001, 2002, 2003 model years? Thanks.

They are all good trucks and every year has issues. But 2003 is probally the best because the heads are improved so they wont blow out plugs like the 99-02's did.

I used to post on here a year or so ago when I had one. If I remember correctly some late 2002's got these heads as well. Is there any other way to tell besides pulling a spark plug and counting threads?

When they "blow" do they take the threads with them thus meaning you need to replace the head?
