Thanks Fast Gator,
I have tried to use this site for education and to help make decent choices. I am always open to suggestions.
So your L didnt get blown away by the Hurricanes the past month I assume? What shape is your neck of the woods in?

Thanks and I hope we do run into each other. Do you get together with other L owners in Fay? This is what I have for the truck as of now for phase 1.
Yes, there is a guy with a black L in Fay and a guy with a silver hd. That are a couple of guys with L in raliegh area as well. You need to check out NLOC, as this is where the guy with the Black L post most of the time.

I am starting with the basics,ha,ha.
LFP,4# QWK Change pulley,Accufab Polished TB,AirForce1 intake Kit,Diablo Sport Predator Tuner,NGK-TRS Plugs, Complete Bassani exhaust system, Western Chasis 2/4 drop(A-arms rather then coils),Chrome replica Lightning Wheels, and a ******** Speedstur cover for good measure(waiting on that still).
How does that sound for phase one?
Sounds good. Did you get your predator from a tuner? (did you get a custom tune with it?) I would also look into getting a FTVB Factory Tech Valve Body. It is a great mod.

So what do you think over all? I want to get the *** end of the truck leveled off so I can drop the back any where from 2-5" with the Western bracket/shackles.

Well sounds like you are going to have one sweet ride. It should take between 2-3inches of drop for the back of the truck to sit level with the front. What are you plans for you old rims?

Nice to see a white L,low production #'s as well. 606 for 03 correct?
Sounds correct, I dont know the exact number.

good luck, as you will find alot of info on this board. I also have a list of lightning vendors, site that have tips and tricks, and other formus, just let me know if you want any.

I thing I will be ordering my Hellwig F/R sway bars next week to round of the suspension and should I do the boost by pass? Pretty cheap upgrade but if Im not launching down the strip is it needed for weekend fun?
Boost bypass is a very simple a cheap mod to do, and I have not heard of any conquences of this mod, so I would say do it.

Hay Brian,
I can't wait to level off the beast I think I will be happier with the stance and the handleing more. That seems to be a common/popular mod.
As far as the stock 03 wheels if i can sell them I will they look pretty nice to me but i think the 99-00? style chrome ones will look good and make me happy for a year or so until I can invest in some 20X10 Boze Bolts. They are sweeeeeeet But these billet beasts are $650ea and we have not even talked tires. So you can see why those may be on the back burner until next year.
If you are someone might want the stocks when they get changed LMK. I am sure we can work out a deal.
Oh yeah what the deal with the FTVB Tech Valve Body?
Later dude

Brian,
Sorry i forgot to answer the Predator tuner question. I got it from a place of ebay in AZ. So I have not done anything with it and my truck yet. I was going to wait until my 4# crank pulley, air intake, plugs, and exhaust was installed and then do the "pulley tune" I have read where some people say the pulley tune was to aggressive? I hear allot about the Ls runnning lean after these types of mods?I have been reading Diablo Sports site to get smarter on custom tunes and chipmasters/tunemasters or whatever. I guess there is a place in Raleigh. Should I look at a custome tune so the air/fuel will be good or is the pulley tune OK.
I seek your knowledge and insight so I can do it right. Weird nice rhyme huh. Later man.

Thank you and I/we all appreciate your support. Its good to know there are still plenty of people out there that support your/our military.
Just a bunch of American Muscle Heads hungry for more power and speed sharing ideas and thoughts about one bad a** truck.
Take care, Russ.

Sound good man. The FTVB is a valve body that you put in your transmission to make it shift harder. With our transmissions, you are not suppose to up the line pressure using a predator or chip, you are suppose to do it mechanical, so we have a FTVB to do this for us. It will also prolong the life or our tranny's. click here for more information on this mod and FAQ's
Oh and did I mention, you will spin second gear

I would get a custom tune from one of the vendors on this forum, and then get to a dyno to get it checked. Or you can get it dyno tuned from a local shop around here, either way will work. In some cases the predator pulley tune is too agressive, and in some it is not, as you probably know, no too motors are alike, so what might work on your truck might not work on mine. But you cant beat a good custom tune. You could use the predator pulley tune, but you need to get it to a dyno asap to check your a/f and your timing.

Thanks I will seriously look into the FTVB. I have read mixed things about the custom tunes with the Predator. I hear how great the thing is ands all it does but I guess if you want to use it the right way then download a good tune from someone?
Do you use the diagnostics on it at all? I thought you could tweak the air/fuel with it? Then again I would not know what I was doing. Its all new to me.
Any GOOD,RELIABLE contacts you would recommend for the tune once my stuff is all bolted on?
No i need to look around town to see if any one does dynos' in FAY. I would think so but have never looked. I better get hot with the yellow pages. Thanks brotha'

The knees are doing OK suprisingly. I have only spent 3yrs away and that was HI.
Love your ride man, sweet. Where is that in the backdrop,CO? I was behind two other L's yesterday. Black also. Never really noticed any until now figure the odds. Kind of wish mine was a different color now but I guys its on what you do to it as far as mods and apperance that will set it apart from the rest huh?
Be cool man.
Nah Bro, I'm not at Bragg, just have some friends there; Naples, Italy for me. It's a Navy community, but I'm in a NATO billet. Not a whole lot of green suiters here, but I wear civies anyway. The back drop in the sig, is AZ. Did my drill time there until last year. I also spent 2 years in HI. Taught PLDC at the NCO Academy there 96-98. Loved that place. When were you there? Also, I just ordered the FTVB today, and got a military discount from Gregg Evans. He's a patriot! Email him at GBEvans@peoplepc.com Peace!

I have been at Bragg 89-93,HI(Schofield)93-96,Bragg96-Present.
Not much of a vareity but I like it here in the dirty south.
I had another guy recommend the FTVB and said it was a good idea and good for the trans in the long run as well as making the tires chirp in 2d. I will look see what Gregg has to offer. Thanks for the S2 and be cool man. We will talk later.
Russ.
