PSP Dyno Numbers and Video!

Last week has been an eventful one.
Thursday was my last day at the prosecutor's office in Bay City.
Friday and saturday i packed and moved to lansing (1.5 hours from Bay City).
Sunday, about 9:00am I left to drive to PSP in NY. Not a big deal right, well it's a 12 hour drive from Michigan with good weather and no construction. Of course we hit both (my Girlfriend and I) So at 2:30am Monday morning we pull into the comfort inn (couldn't find the Ho-jo).
Needless to say i was asleep before I hit the pillow.

Monday morning at 11am, after a quick breakfast we drive up to Sal's shop. (Still 1/2 asleep).

Meet Sal and his Brother and Tour his shop.
I kept drooling over the Big Red Monster, unfortunately, Sal was waiting on a new part.
looks like he got the new part.

Also noticed Sal's "other" race car sitting there. I still don't know how he is going to see out the windshild with the blower sticking out of the hood so much. (see video).

Sal strapped my truck on the dyno, and we chatted about what I wanted.

He wanted to get a base to start from so he made the first pull
http://www.wotds.com/MiLoc/WIKDSVT/P...%20run%201.jpg
graph 1

results 435.30hp and 524.58trq
it was running WAY lean. (need to fix that)

Pulled the chip, made some modifications and made the second pull.

Graph for second run

results 429.30hp and 515.12trq
a little lean throughout the run and then a little rich at the end.
(needed to straighten out the a/f a little more)
sal is such a perfectionist.

Pulled the chip and made a few more modifications.
Run #3

graph for run 3

results 433.63hp and 518.70 trq
(getting real close, but he still wanted to straighten the a/f out a little more)

He pulled the chip made a few more adjustments and NAILED it.

graph for run 4

results 433.91hp and 513.74trq.

Now this is a "conservative" tune, I forgot exactly what the timing was (Sal will chime in and say what it was) but it was very conservative.

I only go to the track twice a year, when the MILOC Crew rents the track, (once in spring and once in fall). So I didn't need an aggressive race program. 99% of my driving is on the street, with an occassional blast to "merge with traffic". so this is EXACTLY what I wanted.
the shifts are perfect, it idles silky smooth, and it pulls like.. like... like a 16 year old running away from ROB.. (just kidding).

NOW:
First I'd like to thank Rich (WYDOPNTHRTL) for hosting this.
SECOND please (right click save as) so we don't eat up his bandwidth)

http://www.wotds.com/MiLoc/WIKDSVT/

the first file is the dynojet view program. download and install it.

the files ending *.drf are the actual dyno files, sal was kind enough to e-mail them to me after I forgot to bring a disk. You can view them on the dyno jet program, change the tables around, change the correction factor, see the MPH of the run, the a/f , timing etc...
The graphs Sal gave me were SAE, the industry standard, however it seems most tuners give inflated STD graphs, so that is what I saved the *.jpg in, the STD format.

The last 3 files are videos.
Run #2 is the complete video, ... all the footage I shot while in his shop. (thus it is large)
Video, run #2

Run #3 and #4 are the same editted video of my dyno runs.
(#4 is a lower quality video, thus it is smaller and quicker to download).

Video, run #3

Video, run #4

Am I happy with the results?
HELL YES!

How happy?
well on the way back I drove through rain from Hurricane CHARLIE, through the pennsylvania mountains. Drove 30 mph in the worse rain I ever drove through.
I'd drive through it again to have Sal dyno Tune my truck. and that is no BS!

Earlier this spring I was dyno tuned by a popular tuner (not mentioning names) and that person screwed my fuel tables up so bad, I showed 425hp on the dyno and ran a 13.7-13.8 3 days later at the track. (my truck ran 13.89 with 3000 miles on it and completely stock) so I was pissed.

Now, thanks to Sal, it feels like a COMPLETELY new truck.
thanks a ton.

PLEASE: RIGHT CLICK, SAVE AS
(Rich is doing me a huge favor hosting these large files)

Awesome dyno runs! Seems like your pulls were completed
in a fraction of the time mine were.
30 more HP makes that much of a difference?

one good thing about the SCT software and chip is you can re-program it in about 2-3 minutes. So you can pull the chip, reburn it, install it and make your next run within 5 minutes.

Compared to some of the other chips out there that take up to 12-15 minutes to reburn.

You really save a lot of $$$ on the dyno time.

Good post l-menace. Excellent video. Sal should use that on his website as a virtual tour of his shop and toys.
You should have a fun time if your going to Stanton with those numbers.

Photo Gallery......................Website.......................Modifications

Have a great day eh !................................................. .....Dave
