Thinking about the Western Chassis A-Arms what do you think?

Im thinking about picking up a set of the western chassis a-arms to lower the front of my truck down a bit more... I have belltech 3inch drop springs on the front already (on an L and Harley they are 2inch drop springs)

Anyone have experiance with the WC drop a-arms, or any other?

Tim Skelton has them installed and documented on his website. They look helluva tough, but they are HEAVY and and more unsprung weight to the mix.

WC are first class ... and the install was a snap to.

Now I need to find an adjustable upper ... to dial
3 degrees of camber back in.

any gotchas I need to keep in mind before getting and installing them? Do you think they would be ok with the spring I have? or do you think I need to step up to something like RUSLOWs coils?

The spring rate does not matter to the arms.

The DJM arms are only slightly heavier than the stockers.

You will need to get taller springs, though. 3" springs and the DJM arms ("2 inch") would probably give you 6" or more in total drop -- don't even think that you can just use simple math to determine the drop.

It's all covered on my Web site. If you can swallow your pride long enough to stomach reading my work.

Since you do not have the adjustable uppers now... what is your current camber? any alignment issues? How much did changing just the a-arm drop your truck in the front?

I've had mine installed for over a yr with no problems. I have a 1" drop spring installed in the font with the arms and the ride is great. I did have to have the spacers under the front swaybar mounts removed inorder to get the endlinks to line up correclty.
I also have cam bolts and clunk washers to complete the front.
No alignment issues to date, but I have my truck aligned by a guy that specializes in drops and knows his stuff.

Get yourself a pair

I could not figure out before why you were taking pot shots at me. Now I remember -- I expressed an opinion one time about your hood and your paint job.

I don't like them, true. So what? To conclude from this that I don't like you is just plain incorrect. A famous motto in my profession is that we can disagree without being disagreeable. I will argue to the death with opposing counsel and then go out with him or her for a beer.

I don't know you or have any reason not to like you (other than you popping off at me). So if you can get past the fact that our tastes in vehicle appearance are different, let's just put that behind us and move on. There is no problem at all on my end.

I'm going to stand up for Madness here.

Tim,

You have a lawyer's mentality, correct? A lawyer's mentality is rooted in debate, or at least that's how I see it.

With that said, how many lawyers do we have on this board? If you want to argue with someone, call a lawyer and have a ball.

There is no reason (even if you truely believe it to be fact) to discredit anyone for their paint job, size of rims, whether or not the rims are chromed or painted, etc, etc, etc.

Most peeps here are just looking for a little help and friendly compassion from a brother. Brother's are supposed to be nice, even if they dissagree. Sometimes we have to bite the bullet and keep our mouths shut.

Madness is not alone in this, there are lots of people that frequent this message board that think you're an ***. Not me, I think you're a gentleman that will see the light.

And, I won't argue with you about anything, including this post. It just seems that you can be cruel to people sometimes and it hurts their feelings. God help you if you talk to women the way you talk to the guys here. Smarty Pants!! (hehehe)

Chikenears, I really appreciate you bringing to light something I have felt for a while... My feelings are not hurt, It just gets annoying when someone is a complete smart *** to any and everyone... thats what keeps so many people from posting on this board. I always appreciate the information I get from others on this board, and I try and provide information as I can as well.

However Tim Skelton will be Tim Skelton... no worries from me... I can ignore him fairly easy...

Thanks again Chikenears for the support I need to chat with you about a custom plate for my truck... Are you going to Lfest this year?
