Transmission question
Transmission question
I have a question concerning the "lunge" foward on start up.I have an 01 with 6500 miles and it always lunged forward on start up,But I noticed lately that it doesnt do it.So my question is what was it, and why does it not do it now?The truck feels a little lame as of late, but not to bad.The only odd thing I noticed is, about three weeks ago, I was going around a sharp right hander and coming out of the corner I kicked it down and it red lined as if it were in nuetral.Could this be a t/c issue? Thanks
I might be going way out on a limb here but I am “thinking” the “lunge" forward has something to do with the brakes. Maybe it takes a second or so for the pressure to build up, hell I don’t know. I do know when I haven’t ran my truck for a week or so that when I start it and put it in drive it has the “groaning” sound from the brakes.

I get the same result, probably from rust on the rotors?

Well actually mine never have rust on them. They always look nice a shinny. I know we are suppose to have the heavy duty brakes, correct? Not standard F150 brakes?

I have a 99 and it lunges also. BUT my 95 Ford van E-150 done that and kept getting worse. Finally I took it in and they said that the forward clutches in the trans are binding and after a complete overhaul it was good as new. NO problems since and that was ar 40 K miles I am over 325 K still going strong.
