Indy - Chicago area Owners any here?

I just got relocated to the indiana / chicago area. Hobart to be exact. I'm attending IUN in Gary. I've seen a couple L's in my hobart area not to mention a SVT dealer that is 2 blocks from my house. They retightened my plugs, 500miles into my roadtrip moving (from mass) I get a tapping noise starting. = PLUG.

charged me 220!!! for retightened all the plugs. #7 turned out loose. But gladly I made it 600miles with the tap to the dealership.

Are there any owners near me or any clubs? I havne't seen any on nloc (clubs).

Where are the best dyno's near and wheres the enarest good track for 1/4th miles?

Nearest track for you would probably be US41 Morocco. It's a crappy track, but the techs aren't real strict. I've raced in shorts before.

You're also relatively close to Rt66 Joliet, which is a quality track but not that good for TnT.

There's a couple of dynos near you. FLP up in Naperville and a place near Indy. Speed Inc. is also in the region...

Thanks for the info!, I'll look into those tracks. I guess there isn't any Northwest Indy/chicago area L owners chiming in to welcome a new guy? I miss my NE crew, they're the best !

Do the guys in our area post on other forums or anything? How will I know when most of the L buddies in our area go down to rt 44 for some racing?

well I don't think many peole go to 41 except me...... but I can run N/C there thats the only reason I go.... another good track around here is byron even though it is about an hour and a half away. but it hooks real hard and they have real nice track prep.....unlike 41. usually if there is a big get together around here it is posted sumwhere....... on here or NLOC..

hope that helps...... and welcome to the area!!!!!
Email me and I will get you my number if u want to come out this way and hang out.....

Welcome to the area! To find out some of the local SVT activities, stop by here:

ChicagoSVT.com

We're having another SVT track day at US 41 in Morocco IN in October (MSC - Midwest SVT Challenge). The one we had this past May turned out real well. There were probably about 40 or so Cobra's and other Mustangs and another 20 or so Lightnings.

It was probably money well spent with #7 tappin' but damn did they take advantage of you.

I'll be sure to do them myself in the future!, thing was I got off driving 600 miles tapping I needed to get it fixed asap or risk paying a ton more to fix the head + new coil/plug.

September means football season, and that means I'll be tailgating all month, so I won't make that particular show. Hope to see you around though! Make sure to watch chicagoSVT.com for John Patte's get togethers in Mokena, IL. They're a good time.
