Two words.... BEATER CAR.

Mine is a 1992 Toyota; runs like a top (knock on wood) and gets 35+MPG. Goes thru snow like a Siberian husky. $600 out the door.

Think about it.

Commute?

I drive 85 miles each day to and from work. ( 42.5 each way). The gas does cost a bit, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love driving the L to work!

( Turnpike on ramp is sweet at 95 mph + boost!)

I say keep the Lightning man. You know you're going to regret the decision the first day you're merging onto the expressway and need to get in front of a semi truck!

Keep the truck!

I dig this line:

"Goes thru snow like a Siberian husky. $600 out the door."

Now THATS a hooptie!

I'm hooptie-hunting right now, even down here in Florida. I cemented my decision this past Saturday night. Went out on a 1st date, so obviously couldnt ask the gal to drive. Dinner - no problem. But then we catch a late night movie (1145 pm start time) and the mall parking lot is SWAMPED with teens and undergrads. Seemed like I was sitting ina fishbowl as kid after kid stared and / or motioned at the truck as I drove in. Couldnt ask her to park 8 football fields away from everyone else, couldnt drop her off at front of mall entrance and let me park and come back, so I had to park RIGHT NEXT TO other vehicles (ha ha, which I never do)...............my nerves were shot sitting thru that 2 hour movie. Screw it, I need a hooptie.
