Ricer product that would work for our trucks (Cold air)
I have been doing a lot of research thinking of what to use to scoop up the cold air from the lower pumper. I came accross this and it looks like the perfect thing. It has a cover for if it rains, a filter to help protect from puddles or large dirt. It is made by weapon R. I am not sure if the tube is long enough to reach or boxes, but its a good base for a slick set-up IMHO.
Weapon*R Dragon Intake Systems are one of the mostly higly rated intake systems in the world. Used in many countries in many different forms of racing. Also recently rated " Best Overall Performer", outperforming Cold Air & Short Ram Intake systems, in the 2003 Tuner Performance Reports, Intake system Battle.
The WEAPON*R Ram Air Kit converts your Dragon intake system into a Ram Air Intake. Ram Air Technology is an technique to produce a cold intake charge to you intake system to produce extra RAW Naturally Aspirated Horsepower to your engine. The components in the Ram Air kit are all computer designed and made from plastic to resist heat soak, which robs horsepower from your engine.
To install this unit is simple, first you bolt the RAM AIR ADAPTER to the top of your NEW DRAGON FILTER. After you have done that, using the mounting kit you mount the Ram Air Scoop to any part of your car which gets constant rushing cold air. Next you route the Heat resistant 3" Ram Air Hose from the Scoop to the Ram AIR ADAPTER on top of your Dragon Filter. Your car is now equipped with RAM AIR. In every kit is a STORM SHIELD for the front of the RAM AIR SCOOP, just install it when you see any chance of rain to be 100% safe. Also in the Ram Air Scoop, is a layer of foam to block water droplets and large dirt particles from entering the intake stream. The Storm Shield installs in 1 Minute.
The Ram Air kit comes with the Ram Air Scoop , Ram Air Adapter , Flexible 3" Hose, Ram Air Scoop Adapter and Mounting hardware.

Replacement Ram Air Adapters are also sold seperately.

Or you could just uby a part specifically made for our lightning.
Nothing goes on my truck with the word "WEAPON" or "R" in it.
I think you could make one of those Far cheaper than they are selling it.
Looks like a shop-vac parts.

I was trying to put something together but I cant for the life of me find Shop vac parts around here
