Question BBK Cold Air Intake?

My B-day is coming up soon & the wifey has said she'd spring for an air intake for the Lightning.

My question is.... Is the BBK Power Plus CAI a quality system (part # 129-1734 in Jeg's catalog)?!?!? From what I can tell it looks to be well made & I like that it includes an intake tube similar to the C&L piece; but would like some 1st hand opinions from people running one if possible.

Choices have pretty much been narrowed down to either the JLP or BBK setups.

Thanks in Advance!

Does the BBK have any kind of enclosure or air dam to block underhood heat? If not, get the JLP.

Tim,

yeah the BBK kit has a deflector around the filter, though it doesn't completely surround it like the JLP intake does. Most similar to the box around the Air-raid kit as far as I can tell; there IS a pic of the BBK system in the latest Jeg's catalog on page 176 but no pic on the website.

One thing that I wish was different, looks like the filter that comes with the BBK kit is like the K&N's and doesn't have the extra inverted cone filter surface in the end; just a big chunck of rubber for an end cap.

echo,

I can't find any pics or pricing info on the Volant system... anyone have a link and/or info for me!?!

Try these guys. I have bought 2 intakes from them and am happy with the quick shipping and competetive price.
