How To Dyno
How To Dyno
I'm going tonight to a place that specializes in LS-1. not sure if they know anything about lightnings. However, they aren't tuning, only checking the numbers and more importantly the a/f ratio.
SO:
How do you dyno? It is a dynojet.
1. turn off the OD
2. put truck in drive,
3. take it up to 3rd gear about 3000 RPM's
4. Let her gp to about what 5500?
I think that is how to do it, but I want to make sure...
at what speed or RPM will the truck NOT downshift into 2nd gear.
ANYONE?

Yep, you got it. Bring the truck to about 3k or 70mph. The truck should not downshift at that point. Take it to about 5500 and you should be good.
Other things to mention...
Do NOT run the truck when it's cold, like it's been sitting. It works off different fuel tables when cold.
Do NOT let them start the truck and IMMEDIATELY make a pull. Let the truck run for at least a minute or two while before the make the pull to ensure it's not working off startup fuel adders.
Other than that, you've got the rest. Good luck!
Also- bring a floppy disc with you and get the dynojet files when you are done. I can use that if we need to adjust your tune.

ROCK ON!
BTW Sal...
The truck is running 100 times better since I put your chip in there yesterday.
And the 6# pulley over the 3# pulley.. WHOA! (haven't gone full throttle, (wanna make sure everything is fine (A/F)) But holy crap does it pull off the line now.
