Problems with the Level 10 transmission

Lo Folks.

I've been experiencing some problems with my Level 10 Transmission. It seem to have difficulties in deciding between 3rd and 4th gear sometimes at the highway.

And sometimes I need ca 3000 rpm for it to move the truck in 1st or reverse. What could this indicate. I've checked the fluid level, and it looks ok.

If im going to flush the tranny, how much oil do I need, and are there any other fluids I can use than Mercon?? (since I dont live in the US, I will have problems getting hold of Motorcraft's products)

PS, this is a fully build JLP truck with 575 rwhp (I've already send JL a mail, but hopefully u guys have some tips too )

Trans problem ?

Had a similar problem on my old 2000 Lightning, check that the filter in the transmission has`nt come off. This gave it the same problems your discribing. Just had to put it back on. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear
Iam no trans expert, but that does sound like a loose or dropped filter.
Hope thats all that it is and you fix it before the trans burns up

If the filter doesn't do it, it sounds like the direct clutch to me, the direct must engage for reverse and be engaged for 4th, how is third gear pulling? Turn off the OD and see if it gives you ggod pull in third.
Just a guess, it's very hard to tell from a short written description.
