Power Tailgate Lock
Power Tailgate Lock
Ok, I'm at a loss. Can’t seem to figure out which wires to tape into. I've search several of the forums and they weren't of much help. The instruction that came with the pop and lock say to tap into a pink/orange striped wire and a pink/black striped wire. Well, I found the pink/orange and it goes to a ground but I can't find the pink/black. I did find a black/pink striped wire but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the locks. If someone could please tell me the correct wires to tap into I'd greatly appreciate it. Sorry for the dumb question. Thanks.
brain bypass, I've looked under several of the other forums and haven't come up with anything very useful. If you could let me know tonight when you get your truck back that would help me out alot. Thanks.
tpgtp, the white box under the steering column is for the ignition stuff isn't it? Which color wires did you tap into? Thanks.

I first read this in a thread answered by ScrewDrive: Pink/Black = Lock, Solid Pink = Unlock. I used this combo for my 2003 Screw and it works just fine (unlocks with passenger doors, not with drivers door only). The wires are most easily accessed next to the driver's seat under the step plate. There is a grommet under the driver's side of the truck about 1 foot in from the driver's side door which you can use to feed the wires into the cab.

Still don't see a pink/black wire. The only thing I see that's close is the black/pink wire.
petersde, I think the screw might be different because you have a passenger door right behind the drivers so there's wires running back there for the power locks. On my there is no wire in the door sill except for the power seat wires.

i tapped into the wires that are tapped into the white box under the dash going to the alarm box. i assume that is the keyless entry. they were the red/orange stripe (white wire), and the pink/black stripe (black wire).

this actually unlocks with the dirver's door, but the door obviously unlocks when you open it from the inside, so it only unlocks when you hit unlock

Ok, I just hooked it up and it only unlocks. I used a meter and there is good voltage for the unlock function but when I press the lock button it is very low. Does yours only unlock? Thanks.
