Cool Bling-Zing results --> no more MAF pegging

Everyone,

I am happy to report that project Zing-n-Bling is installed and operational. In a nutshell, the project is the new JDM 100mm power pipe and the new SCT calibrated MAF.

Before the project, I was pegging the MAF on the street tune with a KB at 15psi (4# lower & .310 upper). Yeah, Jim did the usual to tune "around" the pegging, but it wasn't the answer we were looking for.

So, along came the 100mm Power Pipe, which looks something like this:

On Saturday morning we installed the power pipe/SCT MAF along with a 4.5" S&B filter and started testing.

On Sunday morning, we had some results:

Thats with a 8# lower and .280 upper.

The best thing is at that power, we were seeing 4.2'ish voltage on the MAF. Plenty of room to grow, and plenty of room not to blow!!!!

My new street program is a measly 563HP and 645FT/LB's with 11 degrees WOT timing.

I believe Jim has all items available and is planning on upgrading his customers that are hitting 5 volts. Also, he plans to try and peg the new setup and see what power level its good for.

Thanks Jim for spending the time with me and working out the tune related stuff.

Definitely a solution for the big HP people.

Well I like the SCT MAF sensor, but to team up with JDM?

I take it the SCT MAF sensor and housing is sold seperate, please post any info you have regarding that.

I-Menace,

Team up with who you feel comfy with. Any SCT dealer should be able to get the new SCT MAF. The SCT MAF comes in a Ford 90mm housing exactly like the stock setup, so you can use it like that if you desire. Either way, it beats tuning around the problem of pegging.

Is the MAS calibrated for the 10mm increase in diameter? If not, why did they stop at 100mm? And what exactly is the added benefit if the electronics were simply transferred over?

Also, anyone using a blow-through system?

As for tuning "around" it, I thought Brian@SCT had addressed that concern, stating there were things being done at SCT to prevent pegging the MAS without using a band-aid fix?

Good stuff!!

600/700 no nitrous is very nice. What boost were you seeing 18-19??

So the same setup with a hundred shot............Hmmmmmmm.

Don't know how your going to live with only 563HP and 645FT/LB's on the street.
