We are luckily untouched here on the southeast coast. Our brothers on the westcoast though are not so lucky. I know there are a few L bros from the area hit hardest that come on here. Hopefully they and there families are OK. It may be sometime before we know as power, cell sites and telephone will not be restored there for some time.

To all in the Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda our prayers are with you.......

Eric

This IS NOT Good News

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (AP) - A "significant loss of life" was reported Saturday at a mobile home park that was in the path of the eye of Hurricane Charley, the worst hurricane to hit Florida in a dozen years.

Charley caused widespread damage to oceanfront homes and mobile home parks and had knocked out power to an estimated 1.3 million homes and businesses as it crossed from southwest Florida to the Atlantic Coast at Daytona Beach.

In addition to the hard-hit mobile home park, Wayne Sallade, Charlotte County's director of emergency management, said there were confirmed deaths in at least three other areas in the county, but an exact number was unavailable.

There were three confirmed storm-related deaths elsewhere in the state Friday. Earlier, the storm killed three people in Cuba and one in Jamaica.
