Engine Problem???

Yesterday, I went to my mechanic to get an oil change. I've been to him 2 times before and have never had a problem. Well today, I started up my truck and noticed that there was a loud screechin noise coming from the engine. I checked all around the engine, and couldn't find anything wrong. At first I thought it might be the bearings in the eaton but the sound was coming more where the oil filter belongs (around that region)...Does anyone have any idea on what this could be and what caused it? ANy help is appreciated

Sounds like a belt slipping?

Mybe the mechanic spilled some oil on a pulley or accessory or even somewhere near on the motor and it dripped down onto the belt...

If it stopped, I wouldnt worry about it

If it continues or keeps returning, it possible you have a bearing in a pulley going bad... have to remove the belt and spin each one by and to try to find the culprit...
