Root cause of the vibration Troubles

If you look from the driver side rear wheel well with your eye level even with the top of the frame you can't see the rear passanger side tire, Now do the same from the passanger side rear wheel well, you will see the top two to three inches of the driver side tire. The frame is uneven and unbalanced with the axle. Every F150 on the dealer's lot is the same way, this is the crux of the vibration issue. Wake Up FORD

I think that you might try a different approach. With the truck on a level surface, measure from the ground to the top of the fender opening and compare both sides. "Eyeballing" the frame sounds good, but may not be accurate. I read your post and took a tape measure to mine. I'm level within 1/8".

Even if there was a 3 inch height variation at the rear (which would mean a corresponding variation at the front, right?) I don't see how it would result in any vibration. Uneven tire wear, unbalanced traction, off center steering maybe. Vibration, no. Just think, every time somebody put on a spacesaver spare, they'd suffer massive vibration until they took it off. Take the time to actually measure one and see if the old eyeball needs to be calibrated, ok?

So you're saying that the F150's are a little higher on the side where a full tank of gas and a driver will be one day?

Duh.

From: Colorado,
The frame rails are not mirror images of each other.

I remember while changing my exhaust making a visual comparison. I am not even going out to look on this one.

I can understand your desperation in trying to solve your problem with the vibration. I would be looking for anything to. I can't believe it has gone on this long.

I don't think a frame irregularity would cause vibration problems. It might handle and track funny though.

I bet it is a rotating part out of balance.

Good Lucik and keep looking!

welcome and thanks for the tip NYALB100, I knew it ...dammm Ford

whats the fix ? what are you going to do with the vibration problem.

"Superfords" prolly knew about this cronic 2-3 inch bent frame issue and was scarred to tell us. sounds like a cover up.
I'll go out and eyeball my truck to see how bad its bent.

That could be why there are pictures of a F150 frame replacement on his website.

it's just my photo host site, I'm not smart enough to figure out how to design my own website YET, but I'd like to learn.

anyway, just click on my sig pic to go to see my photos.

or you can click: http://public.fotki.com/superford/

later,
chris

P.S. look in the "repair pictures" album around page 4 for the frame replacement, but it was a standard F150, not an L.
