Cervinis Louvered Hood
Anyone running this hood?
I really like the way it looks especially with the windshield washer squirt nozzles relocated.
It resembles the one that BMWBig6 designed.

I have a question about it though....is it actually functional, like with the slits going all the way thru to allow heat to escape ?? or are they filled in and you have to cut them yourself.....if it is indeed fully functional, I WANT ONE. Imagine how much louder the blower whine would be.

I emailed them to see if the louvers are actually open to the engine bay. It doesn't say one way or the other on their website (which probably means they aren't). I'm anxious to hear back from them and I will post their answer once I receive it.
I have never seen that hood, it looks pretty awesome to me. is that an actual photo or a photoshop?
I wasn't aware that cervini's had a new hood available.
I definately can't afford one.
but I do want to know...
1. is it really available?
2. how much does it cost?
3. how much does it weigh?
4. are the heat extractors functional?

chris

I went to their site and did not see anything about that hood, only the cowl and ram air hood. I really like the looks of this hood and if functional like others I would be interested in it.

97-03 F-150 Louvered Hood - Part #1160 __
$439.00

Finished underside liner can be painted for show quality appearance. Windshield washer squirters are relocated and hidden under the hood.
I bet there as functional as the ram air hood they sell.
They would have to make drip trays for them work and not get water all over the engine/coil packs.
The louvers would have to be located farther forward to prevent soaking the coilpacks/engine. I have been working on this problem for a few months with my louvered hood I am trying to fab.

actually from what I've been told the fiberglass Cervini's cowl hood is quite a bit heavier than the stock Ford aluminum hood.
that's why I was curious to know about this one.
frankly, on a 4900 lb truck a couple 10 or 20 lbs doesn't make a chit of difference.
but I still just hate the idea of taking off a lightweight part to add a heavier one for the sake of looks alone.
just my .02

Their hoods are fiberglass so it shouldn't be any heavier than the stocker.
