Audi RS6 . My uncle used to have one. Had a few problems but it was an amazing sports sedan. 450hp/415tq. Next years new model is going to have 500hp.

WOW I never heard of this thing. Thanks on the correction of what it was called. That thing was fast! Got me off the line pulled a car length then I got to a Half a car and then he started to pull away. 100mph I gave up with 3 cars behind him, and he was still pulling. He said it was stock but he wanted to throw some mods to it. Watch out cobras for a four door sedan.

They also have all wheel drive, which makes 'em leave very hard. Light weight, lots of HP. Don't want to race one, but I'm still glad they "don't make cars like they used to". When Detroit went to low compression engines in 1971, we all thought the days of the fast car were gone. The Lightning stands as proof of how wrong we were. I park my Lightning next to my 1970 LS-6 Chevelle. I love the Chevelle, but the Lightning is a far, far better vehicle and in stock trim would eat a factory stock LS-6 for lunch.

So your $33,000 truck got beat by a $83,000 car, don't feel so bad. If you had a couple more mods like nitrous you would have made that guy really feel aweful, and you could have said , "Sir you have just been struck....by lightning, maybe another time you'll be more prepared.BTW I think they only have 850 of those Audis in the US so you are one of the few lucky ones to have raced one. Here's a couple of pics and more info on the car.

Are you sure it was a biturbo V8? It could have been the S4 its younger brother.. It has a V6 bi turbo running 260 stock but with a few mods its a 12.0 sec car. In fact mine runs 12.0 @116mph

Lightning vs Audi

This was my car about a year ago running this L.

If your running 12's ina S4 you're alot more into it than " a few mods" You need either stage two or stage three and both of those are going to run a minimum of 4 G's installed. Think the stage 3 kit is around 4500 without installation and that would put you around 11.9 theoretically if your tranny and driveshafts held up. My best friend has one and even with a chip-downpipe-filter-exhaust he can only pull low low 13's.

I agree with r1eater. My first thought after reading this post was that it was the new S4 V8 T.T.

A friend of mine had one, we ran 10-12 times a few diff nights. They run 12.90s pretty consistently. On a cool night last fall he went 12.4 totally stock.

Pretty amazing.

I think there are similar excuses floating around the Cavalier and Sunfire boards.

Man up, a loss is a loss. His car is faster.

There was an Audi S8 (last year's model) but it ws not biturbo.

It was a sport version of the A8, more horsepower, sprot suspension, etc. If I remember correctly it was about 380 or 400 HP

It was an awesome car (it was what they used in Ronin in case you have the dvd...you can see it there)

No S8 version for the New 8 this year....

Coming out next year.

So you prob, raced an RS6

I didn't think they ever sold the RS6 stateside, only the RS4...which is about $55k.

Some of those Audi's really kick a$$...the new S4 is a 340hpV8 in a very small car...the RS6 is a 450hp twin-turboV8 in a slightly larger car...that coupled with all-wheel-drive can really surprise you if you don't know what you're going up against.

I still love my L more than any other vehicle I've ever owned...but there are quite a few mega $$$ rides out there I would love to own if money was no object.

Yes they did actually.
Go to this page
http://www.audiusa.com/dealerlocator
look down the left side and click on "Download list of RS6 Certified Dealers"

I know it was available as a 2003 model (my neighbor got one . . . nice . . . but not worth the 85K . . . IMO)

I don't know if they made it in 2004 though

In your state, Daniel, Certified dealers for the RS6 are:
Audi of Bernardsville
Bell Motor Cars, Inc.
Cherry Hills Imports, Inc.
DCH Audi
Jack Daniels Motors, Inc. ( is this name for real?)
Princeton Audi (YEAH PRINCETON...GO TIGERS!!!)
Schneider+Nelson, Inc.
Town Motor Car Corp.
