My brakes are acting up. At slow speeds, when Im aout to stop completely, my brakes are making a weird creaking noise and the peddle feels bumpy. Everyhting is fine at high speeds.

Also, there is a light metal to metal scraping noise, which I guess are the pads.

Any thoughts?



BTW, I have a '99 with 40k miles.

 

Your front pads and rotors are 'shot'. Replace them so you're not in a crash.

Like LIGHTNINROD mentioned, sounds like your front pads are worn out and now you are hearing the “wear” indicators which squeak and sound like metal to metal.
