Fog Light Quit Working

Figured I would post this in the L forum too:

I have a '99-'00 Lightning front bumper cover on my SCrew. Recently the passenger side fog light quit working. Tested the voltage coming to the light - 11.94. Bulb is OK. Switched the fog lights and both work on the driver's side, but neither work on the passenger side. What could be happening here??

Thanks in advance!!

Just curious

When you say you tested the voltage coming to the light, are you meaning that you tested at the passenger socket (with switch on)?
If that's the case, (you have 12v at the socket), and the bulb works; it has to be something in the bulb/socket connection. Perhaps a bent contact or some insulator stuck in there?

Sell the truck out now. This is a impending sign of doom

I have the 99-00 fogs, so they use an H-3 bulb (bulb with pigtail), so it really does not have a "socket". I disconnected the fog light housing (including bulb) and turned on the switch. I took the voltmeter leads and touched them to the positive and negative wires coming from the truck and get the 11.94 voltage. That made me think it was the fog light housing, but I took that housing and installed it on the driver's side and it works fine. Took the driver's side housing and hooked it up to the passsenger side wires and NOTHING.

I am usually pretty good with electrical things, but I am stumped on this one.

MOP - I am taking your comment as a being sarcastic. I know this is not a big issue as compared to a blown engine or a launched plug, but since I was not getting much response in the electrical forum, I figured I would ask some of the great people in this forum.

That is uber-strange. I mean if something was grounding out, you would probably be blowing fuses left & right.

I'm surprised that nobody else here has had this happen amongst all the other complaints around the forums...

All the wiring is factory, except for the connectors to the fog light housing. It is just weird how it just all of a sudden quit working. Guess I will try and put new connectors on it and see how it works.
