Decided to do a wide open blast tonight on a long empty road.....started from a roll and pinned it. It screamed as usual and right at the 1-2 shift i watched the speedo go from 40 immediately to 60 and then the truck shut off. The radio kept playing and all the interior and exterior lights stayed on. I put it into Neutral and coasted for about 100 yards and then started it back up again. Started right up but immediately gave off this burning smell for a couple secs then all was fine and i went on my way. Any idea what this is?

it drove away fine? w/o repeating the problem? possible bad contacts on your chip or bad alternater?

 

there is no chip....its a predator

 

I had the same thing happen, only I knew immediately what went wrong. I had left it in first gear!

 

thats what i was thinking.......it seemed to bounce off the rev limiter twice before it shifted, but i just thought about this now. Will it shut off after so many bounces off the limiter?
