Where to mount XM radio tuner??
Where to mount XM radio tuner??
I'm having XM installed in my truck in a few days. I cant find a good place inside the cab to mount the small tuner. Before anyone suggests it, I do have an XM ready SONY deck, but they said that I need a SONY compatible receiver (brainbox) in order to use the XM feature on my deck. That unit will cost me more than the whole XM unit installed. They said that could simple use the XM receiver and connect it my my unit with RCA jacks because my deck has the capability to use an AUX. That means I'll have to use the little XM tuner unit to scroll my channels etc. For anyone that has the same setup, where did you mount it? I thought about mounting it under one of the doors in the overhead console. But I dont wanna have to run around with that door open all the time? Any advice??

here is where i put my alpine xm tuner box:
My DVD player sits right in front of the tuner box. I have had XM for almost 2 years now and love it. You definately will. It's worth paying for!!!

I'm sorry, I guess I wasnt clear enough. I'm not concerned with the brain box, but the acual visual control unit. Its little and has several preset buttons on it along with the small screeen to tell you what channel your listening to.
