Question Something Interesting

I took my truck to the dealer this morning, there replacing the driver side seat cover under warranty (I hate taking my truck to the dealer, I don`t trust anyone driving my truck but me) anyway, as im walking out of the service dept and there is a police car behind my truck, and what caught my eye was that the center or the hood had been cut out and a louvered piece had been rivited on in place of the piece that was cut out. my question is, did this police car have some kind of performance package ?, and the louvers were there to let excess heat out ?, I wanted to ask the officer about it but I couldn`t because my ride was waiting for me. anyone have an idea on this ??.

You are correct, the louvers let the excessive heat escape...due to the excessive idling and no air coming through the grill it does help some. We have them on our Tahoes and Expy's.
