It must have a limiter on it. My wife and I just got back from Germany where we rented a C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan and I got it up to 230KPH / 145-150MPH on the autobond and it still had more to go. I would of gone faster, but my wife was asking me to slow down.

That's what I was figuring too.

My boss has the CL 55 AMG, the supercharged 8, it's rated at the same 495 HP as the TT, the power is just in a better range.

I've driven it a few times, it drives nice, feels a little heavy, but pulls really nice on the top end. I think my truck would hang, but I'm pretty well modded. I've raced an E55 AMG and they are more impressive to me than the CL's just because they are luxury cars and not sports cars.

For you to hang, you'd better have a 110 MPH 1/4 mile truck (IMO).

Its a V12 for sure... I just read about that car in a mag a week ago....they were comparing all sorts of V12 cars.

I saw the Mercedes in person on the way to work last week, was black and really slick. I let the guy out into traffic so I could look at it closer. I really like the lines on the doors and the overall low and long look. The guy driving it was some 30-35 year old business man ... too bad it was heavy morning traffic.... not that I wanted my *** kicked so early in the day

I would get one if I had the dough, comfort, style, and all out speed in one package....plus its German

A good friend of mine has an 04 SL600. They are V-12's as said above and with their traction control you get a little squeek from the tires and a whole lot of acceleration! Don't feel as fast inside as they are, but watching the speedo will give you an idea.

Stock is 500 HP and 600 ft. lbs. They have a chip upgrade that goes to 600 HP and 700 ft.lbs. There was one at our local raceway recently that ran 9.90's with all the upgrades from a tuner.

9.90'S!? Wow! It was on slicks, I presume. I'm surprised the drivetrain will tolerate it.

I'm not sure as I didn't see the car run. But there was talk about it. Their traction control works so well that the car doesn't bog or anything, just goes. Of course that's with the stock 500/600 power. That car had $50K or so in mods though!

At the track with a high 11 second truck on slicks it would be a good race. But on the street those cars are deadly. Of course for $150K or so I'm pretty sure I could build something to compete!

If you didn't see it, I would be skeptical. I know YOU know what it takes to run 9.90's. And that's a far cry from 11.90's-12.50's. You know, sometimes people throw around ET's like they grow on trees. Again, to run 9.90's, I think the tranny and rear end would snap like a pretzel, unless they put custom heavy duty (everything) in it just to prove a point.

True. Came from a very reliable source, but still............ Bottom line, they're fast stock!

Did you ever try an Apten-ported Eaton, or just went straight for the Kenne Bell? If you went Apten, did your A/F lean out at all from the Apten? If so, how much leaner?

Yes I did, still have it sitting in my shop with less than 1000 miles total on the blower (including previous use before porting). It leaned the A/F very slightly, but I was nowhere near being on the edge with it as the PSP tune I had at the time was very rich.

The Apten was noticeably louder and did pull better in the upper ranges, although I lost some bottom end. On the dyno I picked up 20 rwhp but lost 25 rwtq which I didn't like with a heavy truck.
