New Metco Idler setup w/pics

EDIT pics below now!!

I just got the "new" style Mecto 100mm idler kit and the instructions say I need a 1" larger belt. Anyone have this setup and did you have to get a larger belt?? TIA.....JR

I "borrowed" the pic from chikenears, thanks Tim
That's where I bought it

Cool, does it fit like the previous model or does it mount differently? Got any pics with it on the truck?

They don't mount to the blower now. They are designed to be used with stock or any aftermarket blower. FINALLY!!

Tim @ Chikenears

PS. Thanks JR

Looks good. Idlers are a nice mod. At first I didnt like them till I threw one on and saw how much more of the belt was now on the pulley. Then I looked back and saw how it used to be in the diagram and I couldn't go back. They arent bad for there price.
I had a similar set up. Looks good man, when you putting it on?
Shane

that install looks 100% cleaner than the previous design!
How much are the new ones? As well as a matching idler to replace the other stock one next to it?

Is that the 100mm pulley? Looks REAL close to the supercharger pulley...what size upper do you have? If you were to change it back to the stock size upper would it touch the idler pulley? Thanks.

yes it's the 100mm. am running a 2.84 upper pulley right now. I don't know if it would clear the stock upper pulley. The 90mm idler is for a stock upper pulley. I have no plans as of now to go back to the stock upper...JR

Other than reducing belt slip, what other benefits are there to running an idler setup?

If your stock idlers are going out (i.e. squeeling, sp?) then most aftermarket idlers are supposed to be better than stock when it comes to overdriving the pulleys. They use higher speed bearings and different grease for longer life. Atleast that's what I've been told.

You were apparently misinformed.

From the Metco site: "Same brand and grade, sealed for life bearing as is used in the OEM Idler Pulley."
