Actually your only 1/2 right. The new SCT programing allows the tuner to adjust more settings in the PCM.

The SCT takes a little bit'o'time to switch programs, but depending on your tuner arrangement, he can email you tunes you can put into it and install into your truck in short notice.

YO CHIKIN

Since your truck isn't much different than mine this is what I can tell you between the old style single banks chips, and the new SCT 4 Bank chip.

The new software that Jim uses will allow him to get into parts of the computer he was never able to access with his old software.

Here is a good example- with the old chip he was never able to get y truck to idle the way I liked with the bigger injectors and the Pro Mass Air. With the new SCT chip my truck idles perfect now and the driveability is much better also.

Total or Peek Horsepower won't change much, but at many rpms you might have more or safer HP than you did before.

As for gas millage I got 19.9 MPG comming back from Ohio the other weekend, mind you I was just cruising at 73 mph.

Since you allready have a chip in your car save yourseldf a few bucks and get the 4 bank multi program chip. I have 4 programs available at just a flip of a switch
Mild Street
Aggresive Street
Mild Race
Full out Race

I thinks for someone like you or me, or the high HP trucks, the New SCT chip or Programer is a must.

I noticed alot better driveability with the SCT. Tip in is alot smoother and the transition between tip-in and mid throttle is alot smoother too. WOT is about the same, Iam guessing.

Thats my story and Iam sticking to it
