give him a 4 truck length headstart and it might be close.

You'll slaughter him!

I've pulled next to S/C Chevy and Dakota's and they sound mean as hell, yet I walk away from them from the start to finish.
They weren't bild to be fast and they aren't.

RACE HIM, and EMBARASS HIM

If it's anything like that supercharged silverado that you can get, you'll murder it. I saw a regular cab run a best of 14.3 in Valdosta, I was running the usual 13.8 with my stock truck.

Just the other day I raced a Chevy 1500 extened cab with 18" nittos, air raid intake. 410 gears, and 150 shot wet system.

He took me at the start because I didn't have traction, I hit second caught up with him started to pass. Next thing I know he started to spin second mid way through. At about 90 I was 1.5 ahead. If he would have had traction he would have been closer.

Mods I have

So Im thinking I should be ok. It's actually this high school kid that "claims" to have had a supercharger put in. Its actually a Z71 4x4 from what I hear. I don't know whats true and whats not, my cousin rode with him and said...."it wheezes a little, but it does not whine like yours".

If it is 4x4, he;ll take you off the line, and then you'll fly by him.

no worries

You will destroy him! No chance for him. If its 4X4, best it would run would be high 14. There is a guy around here with a Chevy full size 4.8 (I think, smaller v8 in full size)with a Magna Charger. Sounds and looks awesome (22's, 4/6 drop, HD hood), his best so far is 14.8 haha. He didnt get good traction due to no limited slip/posi, but still...

From: Colorado,
I don't understand why so many people don't want to race unless they are pretty certain that they will win.

I love speed and will go up against anyone just for the fun and competition.

Maybe thats from getting invoved in bracket raceing where it is your consitancy and planing that work for you.

There is always someone that will have the edge.

I have lost plenty of times but I usally got a friendly wave or handshake from the winner and always did the same for guys I beat.

Race the GM and make a friend.
"PEACE"

I ran a magnacharged chevy truck in test and tune. he red lighted and I still went around him. He ran a 9.39 to my crappy 8.67. Oh and he is the sales manager at Dynatech so I know he had headers. To be fair he was on stock tires. but I was on F1's if it makes a differance.

hey hey hey... better watch out downing 4wd extended cab chevy's!! Dont' know what exactly he is running now, but there was a video of one running low 7's in the 1/8 mile a couple of months back... enough to take most lightning on this board. Do a search and you might find it.

But in this case, you'll take him. There is a Procharged 5.3 chevy in town.... very quick but lacks bottom end. He is friends with a guy who owns a lightning that runs 7.9's and the guy with the lightning said the chevy would probably pull him on the top side... just something to think about. But like i say... dont' worry about it, just race him. If ya lose ya lose and if ya win ya win. Either way, its all about having fun.

I have to agree, I seen a ext cab run an 11.2 10.8 on what looked to be regular tires. I think he was 4*4.

But back to the topic at hand, I think you will smoke him.

"Supercharged Chevy" doesn't really say much.

8PSIG roots? 20 PSIG ProCharger? The results would be very different.

Exactly. Find out some details, especially if you plan on racing for more than just fun.

My wife works for Chevrolet. (used to work for Ford) She called me last week to let me know they had a Joe Gibbs Silverado for the day. I rode in it with the dealership owner. It pulled hard! Seemed it had much more problems with traction than my L, but I think that was just the tire choice they used, and they were pretty worn. Even with my mods it would be damn close, and if someone was in that thing that really knew how to shift it I would probably lose. Who's to say that is the same version that will hit the street though. It was one they are using as a demo to try to sell franchises to chevy dealers. It might be a little "hotter" that the off the shelf version joe blow customer would get.
