A Bad Blower???

OK....here goes...
bought the truck back in april and have been having fun ever since. Every once and a while, I give her the gas and hear a pop, pop, pop, when it hits second gear. I was like...WTF was that???
I'm thinking (after reading here) that it might be detonating....
So I take it to the dealership this morning and have them change the oil, filter, fuel filter, gatorback belt for the blower, and a couple other things .....
I waited for about an hour and the guy comes back and tells me the blower is bad and needs to be replaced!!!!! Wha???

Good thing I bought the extended warranty and it is all covered.

Is this common for the Eaton to have problems??? He said the blower was shooting boost out the bottom...whatever that means.

Sorry for the novel....I'll let you know what happens tomorrow when I pick it up.

I don't recall ever hearing about a s/c failure but that comment is funny.

yes...the eatons are very reliable and well built-- no known problems!

-Mike

P.S. I was just thinking...I'm a mechanical engineering student at Baylor... anyone know how I can get an internship at eaton??

they never responded to my emails, but I think it'd be educational and ALOT of fun

The Eatons can go, while not common it can happen.

A friend of mine was running my stock blower for a while, since his failed after his warranty ran out. He has since found a replacement on Ebay for cheep money and I got mine back.

So while rare they can go out.
