I know that Ford has the special lease offer for the L and Cobra that allow you (as a perk) to preorder your SVT before the general public is allowed to order. I was wondering if anyone out there did it and what your current lease price is. (I would like to compare the dealers lease price to what you are paying)

I would like to get the cobra now and buy the next gen L when it comes out next year :crosses fingers:

These are some of the questions I asked the dealer and am waiting to hear back from them and can't find the info elsewhere. I just want to make sure that they are not "Mis-Informed" {they don't lie...do they??} when they are talking to me...got to keep them honest.

1. Can I pre-order an L if I am in a Cobra lease?
2. Can I lease through a different company (Not Ford motor Credit) and still get the option to pre-order? (are there laws that make it illegal for Ford to offer that perk to those who lease through FMC and not through someone else?)
3. Will ford let me out of my lease early with no penalties if my L is ready before the lease is over. I know i can go month to month if I have to wait for the L.

NO - Its FORD leases only- why would they let any leasing company offer that perk ?

I know i can go month to month if I have to wait for the L. the ford SVT lease is supposed to be designed to let you out as soon as the next gen is ready - Whether or not there is a penalty would be in the fine print

The lease offer is Ford RCL only. They are giving you a subverted rate to lower the monthly payment. I don't know about the Cobra to Lightning question. The Cobra's lease is a longer tem because the L will be out earlier. There is no provision for early termination. The program was created to make sure they sell the current SVT's. They were worried that people would wait out the new models and leave dealers holding old product. The offer of first shot at one of the new SVT's was designed to get people to buy what's available now. If you know you're going to want one of the new SVT's, it's not a bad program. If I didn't already own an '03 L I would probably have taken advantage of the deal.
