Exclamation Bassani Going Mute ?

Three weeks ago, I installed my Bassani exhaust which included the cat-back and the cats (everything but the exhaust manifold). At that time it was load as hell, I could'nt even hear the blower any more. I loved it! Over the three weeks it has become progressively quieter, I know it has because I can hear the blower again. Anyone else experienced this?

My bassanis got louder and louder. I bought my L used with the full bassani setup, headers- mufflers. It got louder after i got it.

Then it got realy loud and i realized the muffler casing was cracking around where the tail pipes bolt to the mufflers.

I'm thinking that the Bassani cats may be getting clogged already. Maybe the tune? There's no black soot in the tailpipe.

Bassani cats are made by CatCo. They arent the greatest cats at time and i know a few people that have had problems with them.

But i havent had a problem for the year ive had them. Im not sure how old they are but there still good.

From: Colorado,
The normal carbon deposits will stick and kinda soften the sound.
I noticed mine aren't the same but I don't think it is as extreme as you state.

I have the stock cats though.

Hopefully just paranoid. My stock cats were completely clogged after tuning (poor idle, hard starts).

cerucker,

There's a new hearing disorder that's been connected to supercharged engines. It's called B.A.S.S. (Boost Aural Selectivity Syndrome). Over time you will be hearing the supercharger whine even when you are not driving your vehicle. A mental connection to applying pressure to the ball of your right foot and toes causes the sufferer to hear a loud Whoooooooooop. There is so far no cure. This disease is often accompanied by a mental disorder most commonly referred to as Mod Madness. It sounds as though you are suffering from the early stages.

I live in Katy, but I drive all over Houston so you may see me anywhere in the area. I am from the poor side of the family, I have a regular F-150. My Father-In-Law has a 2001 Lightning and my Brother-In-Law has a 2003 Cobra (442hp at the tires). Those guys got me hooked on the performace bug.

I posted on the lightning forum because the Bassani is for a Lightning.
