can the upper be pulled off with a stanard three prong pulley tool

Not without bending it at least

This is the puller tool I used


JLP has one that comes w/ some of his upper pulley kits

Don't know if he'll sell the puller tool only, but worth asking

i bent the stock pulley

no worries here though, it was a eaton blower pulley, but not the L it was my brother inlaws gtp

 

Ford sells the correct tool, too - I think for $95 (or was that #195). And it doesn't damage, scratch or mess up the original pulley if you ever want to put it back on.
