Suggesting a SCT TUNER is not a bad influence its a good one. 
Think of a few advantages you have with a Tuner, no chip trace, better communication and 4 bank rather then 2 bank unless you get an SCT Switch Chip or a RED Single SCT Single Chip.
Also with the tuner you can recieve files via email and also check diagnostic codes.
