MAC cat back?
MAC cat back?
anyone using the mac cat back? Any noticeable performance gains? How's the sound? Yeah i know, bassani, silver bullet, longtubes, midpipes and all that, but i dont have a lot of dough and am not too pleased with the stock sound so what do you guys think?
After searching I guess there are rust problems with the MAC so what about the flowmaster american thunder? I'm basically not wanting to spend more htan 300 on a catback.

I have one.
Zero performance gain.
Exhaust not is a LOW growl, not a raspy Bassani.
It will rust!
the tips fill the opening in the ground effects very nicelyt, but within a year they will be rusty!
All in all, I like it, (rsuty tips and all)

I bought the MAC catback about 7 months ago. I'll definetly agree with the zero performance gain. On the other hand it does have a good low tone. I've been happy with it.
The insides of the tips started to rust after about a week of driving it and a few rain showers. After I cleaned the rust out, I gave the inside of each pipe a shot of grey spray paint. Not enough to actually color the inside of the tip, but enough to help seal the pours. So far so good... outside stays shinny, no rust inside.
Not bad for 300 bucks. Oh and I had to cut about an inch and a half off of one of the tailpipes to get the tips to fit right. Thats all though.

I've been running mine for 2 years or so. I think the sound is great. Paint the inside of the tips with some hi heat BBQ paint. You won't really gain any performance from any catback. I used the extra $$$ for other mods.....just my $.02
